When considering becoming a tax preparer the first question you should ask yourself is are you good with people?

One characteristic that makes a great tax preparer is being customer oriented.

You are working for your customer, the customer matters most, and you will do what it takes to keep them happy.

What type of thinking should a tax preparer have?

When deciding to become a tax preparer, you have to think about who you are as a person.

There are two types of people in the world, ones that think inside the box and ones that think outside of the box.

When becoming a great tax preparer, you will have the skill of having creative thinking, which is thinking outside the box.

Tax preparers have challenges sometimes and they must figure out ways to work around them and still make deadlines.

Do problems happen during tax preparing season?

Yes, problems happen or things don’t always go as planned when it comes to being a tax preparer.

This is something to consider when you are becoming a tax preparer, can you handle problems or changes in schedules?

To become a great tax preparer, you must have the skill of problem solving and be prepared or act accordingly to problems.

How smart do you have to be to be a tax preparer?

You must be fairly intelligent to be a great tax preparer.

There is a lot that goes into becoming a tax preparer, which means it isn’t for everyone, and some people may not be equipped for the challenge.

You must know a lot of material and must be able to use that material to be good at tax preparing.

What is a tax preparer’s schedule like?

A tax preparer’s schedule is pretty flexible which is awesome to hear when considering a profession, but they still need to have great time management.

Having the skill of time management is vital to being a great tax preparer, you have to make sure to complete things by the deadline.

This is taxes we are talking about! You can’t slack and do taxes late that would be terrible.
