Update: New Tax Preparer Regulations

Quick tax update for you:

The “big dogs” of the tax industry, including AICPA and H&R Block®, have now come out strongly in favor of new tax preparer regulations at the federal level.

It is possible, even likely, that Congress will pass new regulations affecting “unlicensed” tax preparers (i.e. not EA or CPA) by the end of this year.

The bill that’s being debated now, called the “Taxpayer Protection and Preparer Proficiency Act,” includes “competency testing” and mandatory annual continuing education–very similar to the “Registered Tax Return Preparer” IRS tried before.

We will be covering updates on this developing situation and many other crucial tax updates in our “update and refresher” packages.

The “Version 2” update courses are coming online this month–meaning, we’re adding all the updates that have happened over the past couple months.

We now have update / refresher packages available for all major credentials, so that you can choose the package that applies to your credential:

Please remember that if you are a Forever Edition Member of any of the courses (meaning an annual membership), you do not need to buy ANYTHING, you should already have the courses inside your Pronto Tax School account.

If you have questions about any of the packages or need help, please feel free to reach our support team support@prontotaxschool.com or 310-422-1283 or just reply to this email.
