Ready to Be a “Real Adult”? Prove It by Doing Your Own Taxes

By: Jamie Waggoner

Do you consider yourself an adult? Yes? Well that is great news, have you ever done your taxes on your own though?

become a full adult

No?  Well if that is the case maybe you shouldn’t be considering yourself a full adult.

I’m a college student myself and I would have to say that I view doing your own taxes as a major milestone on the road to “real” adulthood.  Hear me out.  Let’s talk about it.

Age Does Not Equal Maturity

A person can be 18 years old and buy themselves a legal pack of cigarettes.

A 21-year-old can buy themselves a legal alcoholic drink.

A 25-year-old can rent a car for themselves, buy cigarettes like an 18-year-old, get hold of an alcoholic drink like a 21-year-old, but if they have never done their taxes on their own, are they really an adult?

We all know that it doesn’t take any skill to just pass an age barrier and people can be immature way past the time that the law considers them an adult.

Undeniable Proof of Adulthood

People underrate the satisfactionof being able to say that you have personally done your taxes on your own.

No parents helping you or hiring someone to do your taxes for you, just you and you alone.

No one can take that away from you or deny that you have accomplished something major!

You may even choose to use a professional tax preparer, but even in that case, you should know what is being done on your taxes.

Your parents are not going to be babying you forever, you need to grow up fast before you wake up one day and your parents tell you, “You are on your own.”

It is a big world out there and it is better to be overprepared than underprepared.

Knowledge Is Power

Now we are not saying to just go out and do your own taxes without any knowledge, that would be a disaster.

You want to spend a little bit of time learning the basics of how taxes work and what tax laws apply to you.

Fortunately you can learn about taxes online efficiently and affordably.

With You for Life

Taxes are a part of life and taxes are always going to be around, they aren’t going away.

Knowing how to do your taxes earlier on in life—or work with a professional in a “teamwork” way—will help you in the future when you are able to learn how to use tax deductions and tax credits to reduce the amount of taxes you have to pay out.

This may sound harsh but the reality is that if you have any hope to be financially successful it is guaranteed that you will need to know enough about taxes so that you are not constantly getting your hard-earned money taken from you without even knowing what’s happening.

This might be scary considering you may not know the first thing about taxes, but that is where Pronto Tax School comes in to save the day.  You can take these online courses for either $197 or $297 for packages. Many people assume that our online tax course is only if you want to be a professional, but in fact many smart people take our online tax course just to learn how taxes work, for their own benefit.

These courses are made to not be boring, easy to go through, and you can do so at your own pace.

At the end of the course package you get a certification that even allows you to do other people’s takes, you spend some money, but make some money in return.

Learning about taxes is a great way to start being a full-scale adult and getting the respect you deserve.  I know your parents will be impressed if you tell them you’re taking a course about taxes.

Heck, they might even pay for the course, if you play your cards right…

Get started learning about taxes today, there is no time like the present to take the next step towards becoming a full adult.
