Line-by-line through Form 1040

Not all income is treated equally under the tax code. In this Pronto Tax Class Live, we’ll go line-by-line through Form 1040 and discuss the tax treatment applied to different kinds of income. When you sit down with a client, you will need to be able to quickly and accurately assess the different income sources for that client, and the different tax treatment factors that can be at play. For the practice tax return section of this class, we’ll prepare a tax return that includes every type of income on Form 1040, so that we can see how the income types relate to each other and interact. It’s called the income tax and it’s based on income: the more you know about income, the more you know about income tax.
