The IRS announced on October 29th, that they will be updating their Child Tax Credit Portal to allow families receiving Child Tax Credit payments to update their income. The IRS has also announced that it will launch a new Spanish-language version of the Child Tax Credit Portal in late November.
Updating their income will help make sure that they are receiving the right amount of advance Child Tax Credit payments in 2021. Changes to income will be reflected on the November 15th payment if the update is completed by November 1st. If the update is completed by November 29th, it will be reflected in the December 15th payment.
Low income family can still sign up for advance Child Tax Credit payments. The deadline is November 15th, 2021.
