Many people wonder today, “What job can I get without going to college?”
College has become extremely expensive and often the jobs that people get even
when they go to college are not especially high-paying.

This leads people to think about how to get a good job without going to college.
In today’s world, there is nothing wrong with thinking for yourself, in fact it’s a must,
we cannot simply accept the “conventional wisdom” that you can only get a good job if you go to college.
In this blog post, I will share with you one idea for a job you can do without any college credits at all.
Can’t Afford College?
The reason behind this question most of the time is because the person asking the question isn’t sure how to afford college.
There is a solid number of smart individuals that can’t afford certain education depending on how severe their financial status is at the time.
Many cannot afford a four-year university, two-year university, or even community college.

No one knows for sure what people are going through in life that can’t allow them to get a higher education, and that isn’t anyone’s business.
This common concern about the price of education tells me that keeping costs low is a #1 priority for people seeking a career without paying for expensive college.
Become a Tax Preparer Without Going to College
One good job you can get without going to college, and it’s super-inexpensive to get started, would be becoming a professional tax preparer.
I know some people will say “well that must cost a lot of money and take years to do.” Well actually no and no.
As usual, the “conventional wisdom” is not in line with reality.
Pronto Tax School is a company founded by experienced tax professionals that offers online course packages ranging from $197 to $297
that help you become a tax professional in as little as 45 hours, completely online.

These packages come with a 365-day membership so you can take the courses at your own pace.
With Pronto Tax School, you can actually become a tax professional for around $300 including the costs of registering with IRS and your state agency (if
applicable).
Study on Your Own Schedule
Another common reason that people want to skip college is because it doesn’t fit into their schedule.
This is another appealing part about these online tax courses: if you have a full-time job and can’t do the courses at a required time and pace,
this can work for you.
These courses are set up to be easy to access, understand, and not boring like you might think they would be when you hear the word “taxes.”

The videos take up about 30 minutes to an hour of your time allowing you to pause and come back to it anytime.
It doesn’t bounce you back to square one if you don’t complete it in a certain time limit.
Because these courses are online you can do them anywhere and do them traveling or on the go.
We even have had people complete our courses while they ride the bus, from their mobile phones!
A “Forever” Type of Business
This type of job will always be around as well, because taxes will always be around. Taxes are not going away.
This is also a job that you can do at the comfort of your own home instead of going to an office.
Many underestimate or overlook how great of a skill knowing how to do taxes are, or people make assumptions that you need advanced degrees to do taxes professionally.

With the money you make from being a tax preparer, a person could invest that money in a traditional college if you so desire, to further your education.
No, becoming a tax preparer is not the right fit for everyone and it may take you a couple years before you are making good money in the tax business, but for
some people who want to get a good career going without going to college, becoming a professional tax preparer
is a proven pathway that has worked for many other people in just your situation.
My point is, just because you can’t afford college doesn’t mean you are limited to poor-paying, “manual labor” type of jobs.
